    LCD module is positive, so font appears as black on an RGB background.  If you prefer RGB font on a black background we also have a negative type module
    for sale in our store.
    HD44780 compatibility means it is easy to use and drive; Arduino libraries and example code for other MCUs are readily available.
    Pinout is standard HD44780 except for the extra 2 pins for the RGB backlight.  These LCD modules can be substituted onto any board meant for a standard run-of-the-mill character LCD display--the display will function as a standard character LCD with red background if the extra pins are left unattached.
