    What is it good for?

    What is Shrink Ratio?
    Industrial adhesive lined shrink tubing has a 3:1 shrink ratio. This means that the starting diameter of the tubing as supplied is 3 times the fully contracted diameter if allowed to completely shrink. The wall thickness of the tubing is proportional to the percentage of shrinkage.
    How is it measured?
    Shrink tube is measured using the inside diameter when held in a tube position. This is the diameter of wire, tube or other cylindrical material that it will cover. It is shipped flat and will naturally be wider in this orientation than its inside tube measurement.
