Description
The Infantry Assault Badge was established in late 1939. It was given to infantry soldiers who participated in combat action. The basic criteria required participation in three or more infantry attacks, counter-attacks or reconnaissance operations or in hand-to-hand combat or defensive operations of combat positions.
This is a “hollow” (cut out) version of the silver award which was given to foot infantry including mountain troops. It is a fully-functional die-cast replica which is appropriate for wear by German WWII veterans and
Wehrmacht
re-enactors.
Seller's note:
Although this badge fully complies with the laws of the
German
Federal
Republic
(
Bundesrepublik
),
the full size version was not worn
by
members of the
Bundeswehr.
Instead the award was worn on a blue ribbon bar ribbon represented by a "mini" device.
This replica is intended for German veterans and US re-enactors who prefer to wear the
award without the political emblem.
