    Description

For sale are Two (2) Vintage Power Take Off (PTO) Knobs.  One appears to be quite a bit older than the other.  See descriptions below and photographs.
    1)  The lighter colored knob with only the letters "PTO" on it.  This knob is approximately 2" in diameter x 1 1/8" in height.  The brass threaded opening, for the threaded shaft, is 13/64" in diameter.  The knob weighs 1.92 ounces.   The solid weight of the knob and the brass threaded enclosure indicate the knob has some age to it.  A presumptive test for Bakelite was negative, which combined with the fading, indicates this is a more modern type of plastic.  The knob appears to be in very good physical condition.  The condition problem is the fading from exposure to UV light.  The top of the knob is almost a pink/orange color, shading to red as you look towards the bottom of the knob.  The color variation is evident in the photographs, as is the color contrast between the two knobs.
    2) Knob # 2 is a darker red color, and has the words "CAUTION PTO CONTROL" on it.  The knob is 2" in diameter by 1 1/8" tall.  The threaded opening appears to be made of aluminum, and is 11/32" in diameter.  This knob is much lighter in weight than the first one, weighing just under 1/2 ounce (.48 of an ounce).   This knob is in very good condition, with no apparent fading evident.
Please carefully review the photographs to assess the condition of the two PTO knobs, and to determine if they would work for your intended use.
